Thrifty Shopping

Today I went on a wild goose chase to buy something from a Craigslist post. The lady that was selling the item set the time and place herself, but then didn't show up until a half hour later! Since I left after waiting 15 minutes, she lost out on a sale.

Anyhoo, there was a silver lining - I found a new thrift store to pick through! It's huge and full of treasures, but unfortunately I didn't have much time to browse. I still managed to find a few deals - here's what I got:

• A pillow with dogs playing poker on it - too tacky to pass up! $1.99

• A set of 6 lock & lock brand containers, 2 of which have boxes that fit inside to subdivide them if desired, the other 4 are the rectangle canister sized ones. They were still wrapped in the shipping plastic! $10.00

• A stainless stovetop smoker, new in box, with different flavor wood chips to try. This is going to be a gift! $24.99

I also got a few little gifts at the mall, but nothing too spectacular. All in all, I feel pretty accomplished - I got my chores done before leaving the house, so tonight is time to chill and rest!
